GA Private School Tax Credit
Many families at Midway Covenant Christian School have benefited from the Georgia Qualified Education Expense Credit. This credit allows Georgia taxpayers the rare opportunity to decide how they want a portion of the state taxes to be allocated. Married couples filing jointly are allowed to give up $5000 to student scholarship organizations (SSOs) and receive a dollar for dollar tax credit. A C Corporation is able to give up to 75% of their Georgia income tax liability. These donations can then be distributed to various private schools for student scholarships. Giving to an SSO is easy to do and can be potentially very beneficial to MCCS.
This a great program that allows families to attend Midway that may not otherwise be able to or to help out families when a rough patch of life comes along.
